Green smoothie


1 cup spinach or kale

1/2 banana

strawberries or other berry

1 Tbsp ground flaxseeds

2 Tbsp yogurt

small knuckle diced ginger or coriander (optional)

3 baby carrots (optional)

1 tsp Sacred Mushroom mix (optional)

water and ice to taste

  • I love this smoothie that has a low fat and sugar content. The vanilla soy milk gives it the right amount of sweetness! 1 cup spinach or kale 5 strawberries 2 walnuts or 1 Tbsp ground flax seed 1 cup light vanilla soy milk Fat content of 2 walnuts is approximately 5.2g, 1 Tbsp flax seed is 4.3g. Walnuts taste better but have about 1/3 of the omega-3s in flax. Total sugar is about 8. Unsweetened soymilk or 1/2 cup with water will reduce this even more.
  • Add 1 tsp matcha tea to your mug and pour warm (but not boiling) water to fill. Add vanilla soy milk or other milk and whisk using a latte frother or bamboo matcha whisk! Enjoy!
  • My turmeric salad dressing: I make a batch with about 1/2 cup olive oil, 2-3 tablespoons of turmeric, 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar (up to 3/4 cup per preference), salt and pepper to taste. You can also add dried parsley, thyme, or rosemary for more polyphenols.
